About Us

Our company’s history goes back to 1962 when the first refinery was established in Korea. At our new Hungarian plant spreading out over 140,000 square meters production started in the second half of 2020, while mass production began in 2021.

Our vision is to be the auto industry’s end-to-end partner for electric vehicle batteries. SK Innovation develops cutting-edge technology to meet the world’s growing need for electric vehicle batteries.

Our value proposition to global automakers rests on our uniqueness as a holistic energy player, twenty-eight years of experience in battery development and manufacturing, market-leading research and technology, our renowned manufacturing excellence, the global partnership model, and the sophisticated provision of solutions across the entire battery value chain.

We are proud of our trusted partnerships with major automakers and have evolved from a domestic supplier in Korea to a global operation extending across Asia, Europe, and the United States. We build advanced recycling models and technologies as an environmentally responsible stakeholder in the global battery ecosystem.
